It is quick and easy to make this luxurious sandwich yourself at home. Still for some reason I haven´t done it. Maybe it has been because I used to get it in restaurants in the USA and even at Pub´s here at home only. So in my mind it has been “Restaurant Food”. I don´t remember when I last was in a restaurant. However last week I suddenly felt like eating sandwiches. I started out with Norwegian Sandwiches and than continued to Club Sandwich. I had sliced meat in the freezer from my Christmas ham and even the other ingredients I needed at home. So I was exited to both make and eat my creation.
Ingredients:
- 1 slices of ham, about 125 g
- butter for frying
- 3 slices of bread
- 1 tablespoon butter (Bregott)
- 2-3 slices of bacon
- Sliced cheese
- 1 tomato
- 1 small red onion
- 1-2 lettuce leaves
- Sliced cucmber
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons sweet and sour sauce or hot sauce
- 2 tbsp youghurt
- 1 tsp mustard
- Salt and pepper
- Garnish, parsley
- 1 wooden skewer
Instructions:
Sliced ham (or other meat). Lightly salt and pepper it. Toast the bread slices and edge cut if you like them to be the exakt same size. I didn’t do that. Fry the bacon slices. Slice the tomato. Peel and slice the red onion thinly. Slice cucumber. Mix mayonnaise, youghurt, mustard, sweet and sour sauce or hot sauce. Add salt and pepper to your taste. Spread butter on two of the breadslices. Place salad on the bread slices. Spread mayonnaisemix on top of the saladleaves. Wrap meat, bacon, cheese, tomato, cucumber and red onion. Place the bread slices on top of each other with the topping. Top with the a slice of bread. Stick a wooden skewer through all the layers to keep everything in place. Garnish with parsley. Serve with some potato chips or french fries if you like.
